Vintage Minerva caliber 49 (Pythagore)

What makes this watch special:

-All stainless steel case in near mint conditions with crisp edges and original brushed/polished finishes. It has a screw down case back and the dimensions: 34mm diameter excluding crown, 42mm lug to lug, 8mm heigh and 18mm lug with.

-Original thick cristal with low profile.

-Big, easy to grip winding crown.

-Clean, original dial with aplied indices and brand logo. Clean dauphine hours and minutes hands.

-The movement was design in the 40’s following the Golden Ratio studied by Pythagoras, meaning that the bridges in the movement have only 45 or 90 degrees angles. From here the nickname Pythagore.

What is special about this watch:

-All stainless steel case made by a brand that is known for case manufacturing. The case is in a good condition and has a good elegant and comfortable design. The diameter is 35mm, with a thickness of only 8mm, 18mm between lugs and 42mm from lug to lug.

-The original crystal has a low profile making this watch a perfect dress piece

-Easy to operate winding crown (stainless steel)

-Very clean original dial with applied hour markers and sword hands. The dial has a clean and simple design with minimal writing on it (HUGUENIN at 12 and SWISS at 6)

– The watch is equipped with an eta hand winding movement that works great.

Huguenin was a watch case maker starting from 1868. A respected manufacturer that provided cases for big brands like Universal Geneve, Zenith and Omega

Lucien Rochat with Lemania 1873

What is special about this watch:

-A 38mm case made out of stainless steel case with solid gold elements on the bezel and a solid gold coin on the case back. The case has 12mm high profile, 42mm lug to lug and 18mm between lugs. The construction of this watch is very solid. It has screw down case back, a unidirectional rotating bezel and water resistance up to 100m. The case is asymmetrical. The right edge is more prominent, giving the crown and pushers a little guard.

-The crystal is sapphire. It is in very good conditions with no scratches. The sapphire is thick, adding to the robustness of this watch.

-Crown and pushers are easy to use and work good. Aesthetically they are perfect, showing no signs, scratches or chips in the plating.

-White dial with gold applied indices, gold hands and gold tone subdials. Has a tchymetre scale under the crystal, around the dial. The dial is clean and simple, giving the function with minimal writing on it.

-The movement inside this watch is a Lemania 1873, the same movement that powers the Omega Speedmaster Professional (moonwatch). It works perfect, keeping good time. The chronograph also works very good and it resets on 0. All function work great (start, stop, reset).

Lucien Rochat was founded in 1925 and has a tradition in building good quality timepieces. It is a not so well known brand but offers so much for the prices. They use the best quality materials and movements at a competitive price.

Marvin dress watch. Tank style case

What is special about this watch:

-Tank style case, gold plated with stainless steel case back, 25mm wide, 28mm long (without crown and lugs), 35mm from lug to lug, 8mm height and 18mm between lugs. The case is in very good condition and the plating shows no wear. It is a comfortable, slim, dress piece that stands out by having a timeless, classic design.

-Original crystal (plexi) in like new conditions.

-Nice, original, signed crown, easy to operate.

-Clean, silver, sunburst dial with applied indices and baton shaped hands in gold tone.

-The movement inside this watch is an in-house caliber 320A. It works good and keeps good time. The movement was serviced in 2022, looking like new.

-Marvin watches have been around since 1850. It is a prestigious manufacturer with history behind and quality products.

Movado Gentleman 18k rose gold

What is special about this watch:

-18k rose gold case and dial. The case measures 35mm in diameter, 9mm height, 39mm lug to lug and 18mm between lugs. It is a rare piece made in the 50’s that has been preserved very well. At a level of finishing that can be found only at the greatest watch manufacturers, this watch is a statement of quality and craftsmanship. It has a solid built and at the same time keeping a classy, timeless look.

-The crystal is acrylic and is in a good shape.

-The crown is original, signed and easy to operate.

-Full 18k dial (rare), with applied indices and dauphine minutes and hours hands. Small seconds indicator at 6. The finish on this watch’s dial is something else. There is no paint (except the writing), all being executed in 18k gold.

-The caliber 115 that is inside this watch, was promoted by the company as the thinnest automatic movement back in the 50’s. It’s a 19 jewels bumper movement working and looking great.

Movado brand has a great history starting from 1881 and was one of the top brands for many years, introducing innovations in this domain.

Alpina dress watch rectangular

What is special about this watch:

-All stainless steel case with a great shape and original finishing (brushed and polish). Showing minimal use, this case measures 27mm (6-12), 30mm (3-9), 34mm lug to lug, 20mm lug with and only 7mm in height.

-Acrylic crystal without scratches or cracks whit good low profile.

-The crown is not sign (probably not original). It works great and it is easy to use for setting time and winding the watch.

-The dial has a great linen finish and minimal writing for a very classy look. It has applied indices in good contrast with the dial. The hour and minutes hands are painted in black giving a good contrast for better legibility.

-Inside is the caliber 135 in collaboration with AS. This is a thin hand winding movement and it works good looking like new.

-Alpina watches is a well known manufacturer since 1883.

Omega geneve caliber 565

What is special about this watch:

-Beautiful, gold plated case (20 microns) with stainless steel back. The case measures 34mm diameter, 41mm lug to lug, 18mm between lugs and 10mm in height. It is in great condition, showing signs of wear only on the back of the case.

-Original signed crystal with omega sign on the center in very good conditions.

-Crown with omega sign. Works great and has semi-quick date set (moving the hands from 12, back to 9 and then back to 12 for date change).

-The dial is in very good conditions showing no signs or patina. Beautiful applied indices, sword shaped hands and central second hand. Steel has all the tritium dots (not glowing anymore). Nice finished date window at 3 o’clock. Silver color with sunburst finish.

-Inside the watch is the caliber 565, an in house movement from Omega in collaboration with Lemania. It’s a 24 jewel, automatic movement that looks and performs great.

-The brand needs no more introduction and this watches in this conditions are harder and harder to find.

Omega Constellation "Manhattan"

What is special about this watch:

-Beautiful Omega Constellatio (Manhattan) from the 80’s. This watch is from the first generation of this model, model that saved Omega in the 80’s. An integrated bracelet model that looks great in any circumstances. All stainless steel case and bracelet. The case is 36mm and 7.5mm height. The watch fits a wrist up to 19cm.

-The crystal is sapphire, showing some scratches in the middle but only visible on macro photos.

-Crown has the Omega logo and works perfect. Quick date set in second position.

-The dial is black with a date window at 3 o’clock. Applied dots for hours markers and painted train track for minutes indicators.

-The watch is powered by Omega caliber 1111 based on eta2892. It is a automatic movement with manual wind, hack seconds and quick date set. The movement has a great finish, looks like new and performs very good.

-The model is a icon from the 80’s and the integrated bracelet style is very popular nowadays. A great piece for any collection.

Omega Memomatic ( automatic alarm)

What is special about this watch:

-Big chunky 70’s case measuring 40mm in diameter,43mm lug to lug, all stainless steel with crew down back. 15mm height, 22mm lug with. This is an amazing  piece, with a great built. It looks great even if the passing of time wasn’t easy on this one. The case back has multiple scratches due to improper openings, the case doesn’t have the original finishing in all the places (I think it was polished) but steel looks like good on wrist or in pictures :)) and has all original components.

-The crystal is original, signed with the omega logo in the middle. Is in very good condition with no signs (very clean)

-Crowns and pushers are original and in great shape, working perfect. The setting crown is signet. The alarm crown shows no signs. The date pusher looks good and works perfect.

-The bi color dial on this watch is amazing. The outer section is in dark blue and the middle part that has the alarm discs and indicators is in grey/silver.  Applied indices, applied logo and the writing OMEGA. Applied date window at 3 o’clock. All the tritium is intact and steel has some glowing. Overall, the dial is in fantastic/mint condition.

-The watch is powered by the caliber 980, automatic with alarm function. This 19 jewels movement has manual wind, quick date set by pushing the 3 o’clock pusher. The alarm is controlled by the pusher/crown at 2 o’clock and the time/alarm is set by the crown at 4 o’clock.

-A great, rare piece that will fit it any collection.

Omega square (De Ville style)

What is special about this watch:

-27/27mm stainless steel case, 9mm height, 35mm lug to lug and 19mm lug with. All this characteristics make this watch a great dress piece. All the components are original and in great overall state.

-The acrylic crystal is original and has the Omega logo in the middle. Shows no signs.

-Crown is signed and works great.

-The simple/clear dial is in tone with the watch’s design and purpose. Applied indices for hours  markers and thin hand set with minimal writing on the dial.

-The movement inside this watch is the in house caliber 671 with 24 jewels. The movement is looking great and performs very good.

-It is a De Ville style piece, timeless and very elegant. A rare find in an excellent condition that will look great in any collection.

 

What is special about this watch:

GUB Glashutte cal 60.1

-In 50’s-60’s style, this watch has a great looking stepped case, gold plated, measuring 35mm in diameter, 11mm height, 41mm lug to lug. The plating on the watch has wear in some places but still looking great and gives personality to the watch. Screw down, stainless steel case back.

-The crystal is acrylic and is in good condition complementing the stepped case

-The dial has a great layout with painted, arrow shaped indices. The patina on the dial is evenly spread giving this sector dial a great vintage look. This dial is maybe the most appealing thing, visually speaking, about this watch.

-The other great thing about this watch is the movement GUB 60.1. This movement is an in house, made in Germany with a good tradition behind it in the Glashutte region. The movement is working great and keeps good time.

-It’s a great discussion piece giving the heritage behind this movement. This type of movements have roots in A.Lange engineering and design. Plus, this watch can be a great day by day companion doe to a good functionality.

 

What is special about this watch:

SEIKO C359-5000

-2th generation of calculator watches from Seiko, this watch comes in an all stainless steel case measuring 34x38mm and 9mm height. Made in the 70’s, this watch comes with a screw down battery cap. Back then this watch was a gadget, practical and innovative.

-The pushers are stainless steel and have an intuitive usage.

-The crystal is mineral glass with minimal signs of use.

-The movement inside this watch is an electronic module 5000 with date, alarm, led light and calculator functions. All the functions are working great.

-Seiko has a great history and the watches that they were making in the 70’s were great. They are mostly known for the reliable tool watches and innovations at the time.

What is special about this watch:

HUGUENIN AUTOMATIC 

-All stainless steel case measuring 34mm in diameter, 10mm height and 42mm lug to lug. The construction of this case is at the highest standards, Huguenin being  known for providing cases to bigger brands. This model is from when Huguenin was bought by Hamilton.

-The glass is original and in good shape shoving minimal signs of wear.

-Crown is in stainless steel, easy to use and in good condition.

-The dial is silver with great patina all over. It’s simple with minimal writing. The H from Hamilton, the name Huguenin, automatic and swiss under the 6 0’clock marker. Hands are dauphine stile and looking good with some patina but in original state.

-Inside this watch is an automatic movement from ETA, working great and keeping good time. The watch can also be winded manualy.

-Huguenin is known for the case manufacturing, some of their star designs being the twisted lugs and the cases of (speedmaster, seamaster300, eberhard scafograf, doxa sub sharkhunter). This collaboration with Hamilton resulted in a great looking watch. Imho, this watch resembles a 50’s seamaster doe to the case design.

 

Maserati (Universal Geneve 609)

What is special about this watch:

-Chrome plated case measuring 27x34mm, only 4.5mm height and 17mm for strap fitting. The case is in 80’s tank style but I had no luck in finding informations about this model. It is an odd watch, in reverso style, the watch can be flipped over for protection or to be worn as a bracelet. It looks great and a part from everything I have encountered.

-Crystal is sapphire in perfect condition

-Crown is masked by the sides of the watch adding to the special construction of this stunning piece.

-The dial is a true art work. Simple, with minimal writing on it and with discreet vertical stripes that give this watch a more elegant and classy look.

-Inside the watch is a rare Universal Geneve quatz movement 609. Time only, reliable movement with very slim profile.

-Maserati is well known for their cars and less known for the watches. This piece is nothing like the new watches from Maserati, having a superior, rare movement and a case built that is really out there.
