Probably Seiko has made this move the most. They brought back a lot of models, iconic models, that the watch enthusiasts loved and aspire to have some day but they always made some changes from the original that made us say pas at most of this models.

On the other hand, Citizen, the other famous Japanese brand, brought back in 2022 the Promaster Mechanical Diver.

In my opinion, this is how you do an reedition right. They kept most of the aesthetic aspects and ad the 2022 technology. What came up from this? A great size diver with vintage look and up to date technology that every divers watch fan can appreciate. The mercedes hands (borough from Rolex), the big bulky hour markers, the visible lollypop on the seconds hand, the cool deep dial, all make this watch look great. They choose the titanium for the case so the watch is very wearable as a every day watch. I see this as a plus from the original model. They put in a good reliable movement (831) that runs at 28800vph and has a decent 42h power reserve. The watch has 200m water resistance and is a build for purpose divers watch wile looking and feeling like the only watch you will ever need. Adding the great price range that this watch is on and we have what might be probably the coolest release of 2022 (in this price range)

WATCHES AND JAMES BOND

The iconic style is back

Simple put, this watch comes back to what made it famous. The cool wave pattern dial, the aluminum bezel, the cool blue color. All that and then some pluses.

It has the very elaborated 8806 movement, a very cool case back with a logo and see trough saphire crystal. A seconds hand with the lollipop at the end witch is a nice touch and of course the no date clear dial that makes this watch truly special.

I’m not a big fan of the screws on the back but I have to admit that the number (7screws) is compensating for that.

The little things, the small details and the fact that they go back to the true (Pierce Brosnan/James Bond) style make this watch a must have in any respectable James Bond memorabilia/collection.

Off topic, I hope the movie industry keeps up with this trend and brings back a cooler, new James Bond with the same attention to details as this watch.
