Doxa Sub 300T Aquamarine 50th Aniversary

What is special about this watch:

-Stainless steel case, cushion style. The case, as it should be on any tool watch, is a good, solid built. Measuring 42mm in diameter, 44mm lug to lug and 13,5mm thick, this case offers some level comfort. Being a tool watch (professional diving watch) the measurements are in a good spot. Mostly, the watch is more comfortable due to the sort lug to lug distance. The bezel has the patented (3505808) diving scale and is also made out of stainless steel. It has a very good grip for better use of the 120 unidirectional clicks.

-The crystal is a very thick sapphire crystal with anti reflecting coating on the inside. The crystal is flat and sits slightly taller that the bezel.

-The crown is a screw down crown to assure the 1200m (120 atm) water resistance. Has the logo of Jenny (the jenny fish) embossed in orange.

-The dial is Doxa signature with the brand name and automatic written at 10 o’clock and SUB300t and Aquamarine at 4. Date window at 3. All the markers are painted in very good contrast with the dial color for a better legibility. The hands are painted in black for the same reason and have, what in watch world is called, a smurf hour hand, meaning that the hour hand is a lot smaller than the minute hand, the minute hand being important for the divers when reading the time set with the bezel.

-The bracelet, beads of rice style, is very well made and very solid. The links are hold by screws, has a thickness of 3,5mm and divers extension on the clasp. The clasp has ratcheting, quick set for the extension but that makes this folder very thick(9mm).

-Inside this watch beats an ETA 2824-2 with Doxa finishing. It is a good reliable movement that will serve for years without servicing and the service of this movement is done by most of the watchmakers.

-With a lot of history and with Cousteau behind the design of this model back in the 70’s, this watch is part of elite diver’s watches out there.

Tudor 79410

What is special about this watch:

-39mm case diameter, 48mm lug to lug and 10mm height. A great diameter and case shape making this watch very comfortable to wear. It has a screw down back case and a screw down crown (triple safe) for the sporty side and ensures that this watch is a good companion in any circumstance.

– The crystal is sapphire, it is flat and that helps for the height of only 10mm.

– The dial is mate white with arabic numerals missing the 3 and 12. At 3, it has a date window and at 12 sits the Tudor shield. The minute tracker is fairly simple with black lines and next to every hour marker has a T shaped marker in red. Hands are sword shaped, skeleton hands with plenty of lume and the seconds hand has a tear shape buble.

– Inside this watch beats the 2824-2 eta with great finishing by Tudor.

– Tudor has a great history behind and they are passing the ”poor man’s rolex” phase by creating theyr own herritage watches, new in house movement and great new designs.

The watch I presented here is from the period that Tudor started to do something else (design wise) but sticking to the recepy  for the built quality and common movements.

Awesome watch with great built, good aesthetics and easy to service movement.
